I hope that you all had a great Christmas and Hannukah and any other holidays that you may have celebrated. I know that it may not be the best timing, but you may not hear from us from a day or two because RGM is going on a brief vacation but, no worries, we will be back. So if you don't hear back from us for a few days, we'll get back to you as soon as possible.
Have a good rest of the year! The RGM staff. We were recently asked by one of our members what would happen if you did all three? Now, every once in a while that would be brought up and we always thought that you could incorporate the other genres into your novel, but when I was asked this question, I thought about it for a moment and realized that it would be a good idea if we did something like that. That is why we are introducing the Erotic Adventure Mystery genre. A challenge much greater than Random Genre Month by itself, it must incorporate eroticism, mystery, and have adventure in it. So if you are up for an even greater challenge, you can decide to do the newest RGM genre. Good luck!
With less than half a month to go, we're ready for Random Genre Month! I hope that you're planning your novels. Don't forget that you can update your information extremely easily.
I have decided to write a mystery novel and today is plot-planning day and by tonight I may have a summary up on the website. In the mean time, don't forget to sign up! Mystery or Adventure? Which one should I do? The question of the month.
Surprisingly, one of the most popular genres that we've seen people interested in is Erotic Fiction. We may have a popular crowd from that genre this year, but it's not for me. It's okay if you can't decide which genre you're going to write yet. You have around twenty-four days until the end of the year and all of that time to decide and plan your novel. I have a good idea for both mystery and adventure but I just can't decide and that's okay, I have plenty of time. So which genre to right? If you're still stuck on that question, go to the book store and just walk around the sections for each genre. Get a feel of the novels and maybe skim a few. That always helps me. So the genres were announced yesterday and sometime in the next few days we will release a description for writing each of these genres but until then, you can use the Wikipedia articles on the Home page.
The thing is, I have no idea which genre I am going to write. I was expecting none of these to be chosen, especially since two of them are repeats of last year. Not too excited about that, but maybe somethings trying to tell me that either Erotic Fiction or Mystery is the genre for me. I think that the first one is not one I'll be writing. So, since erotic fiction is out of the picture, I'm between Mystery and Adventure. As I mentioned before, I don't like that cheesy adventure that people do, but I feel like I could easily write a novel of this genre. As for mystery, I've always had a soft spot for them. I read Agatha Christie once and immediately it became a genre I hadn't liked before but now was a fan of. I don't like the sappy Hardy Boy books that I don't think I ever finished reading, I like a good old fashioned murder mystery and I have a pretty good idea of what I would write with it. I'm going to spend the next few days deciding, though, and we'll see what I chose. The three genres have been chosen and you are now free to chose and update it onto the page. So what are the three genres? Two of them are repeats of last year, surprisingly.
Adventure, Erotic Fiction, and Mystery/Suspense. Which one are you going to write? This weekend we will come out with a detailed description of each genre and helpful hints for writing it. |
