That timer on the Home page is mocking me. 62 days left! HURRY UP ALREADY! Well, at least there's only two days until NaNoWriMo

Good bye, October! Hello, National Novel Writing Month! Well, it's finally here. With two more full days left until November I can hardly wait. The good thing is that time will fly this weekend. I have a party tonight, Halloween shopping tomorrow, and then Halloween on Sunday. So this weekend I have to finish up my novel planning, find a costume, carve a pumpkin, and come up with a horrible joke. Oh, and yes I have to finish anything due Tuesday because I'll have no time to do anything else that day besides WRITE! Wow, I am busy. Well, all the better I guess. Don't know how I'll sleep Sunday night, though.
Hey everyone. I'd just like to take the time to tell you about a great project called Scrivener. I am using it for my NaNoWriMo novel and I am now addicted to it. I am going to use it always from now on. It is so great! It makes writing novels so much easier. You can compile your books, you can go from chapter or scene to another chapter or scene. We recommend you using it
With one week to go before NaNoWriMo starts everyone is getting very excited. Besides the competition starting, it also marks the one month before the genres will be announced. I personally am hoping for Horror. Genres that I would not like to see on the genre list: Fan Fiction, Chick Lit, Erotic Fiction, Western Fiction, or Religions and New Age. Watch all three genres chosen be in that list.
The funny thing is, I've never written horror before. I think that's one reason that I would like to do it. Besides that, I have a really good idea for it. Oh! I cannot wait until December. Also, our NaNo staff is planning an extra competition. It may not be up this year, but next year it will probably. No details are going to be released yet but if you would like to compete in this mystery competition which the winner WILL get a special prize you HAVE to compete this year so that is another reason to do this competition. At the moment we have a few people signed up and we are looking for more, so if you like to write, we would love for you to join us. I don't know if you've noticed, but Robert has officially joined our staff. He is at the moment assisting me in all of the website information and things like that. It is very technical stuff and I can't do it all by myself so I am glad to have more help. At the moment we are not hiring anyone else. Right now we are just hiring people that we know. Also if you would like to edit your profile information you can either send and email from your email to [email protected] or you can comment on it down below. If you do put it in the comment box we will send you an email making sure that you would like that. We hope that you are all doing NaNoWriMo this year and a fair warning that our staff will have a little trouble managing the website so it may be a few days before your account can be approved and we are very sorry for the inconvenience. Happy Writing, Jack Random Genre Month President Can you believe that November is going to be here in a week? Who here is doing NaNoWriMo? Comment down below if you are. We support NaNoWriMo and hope that you do it. Then December marks the announcement date!
Okay so I am going to stop doing the Day -- every day because it will just get too confusing. Okay so now that NaNoWriMo is starting in ten days we are going to not update the blog as much. We are going to be working on some site adjustments and stuff like that. We will still check the staff email except we wont as much so we are very sorry if we do not enter your information right away. We will send an email out when we have it up.
We are very excited that NaNoWriMo is around the bend and as I said our staff will be very distracted by it. After NaNoWriMo is when the genres will be announced and that day we will have an email sent out. Well, happy writing. Jack Sorry I didn't go on yesterday to update the blog. Fliers were passed out that day but besides that nothing much happened. We are pleased to have Robert joining our staff in a few days, also there are eleven days left until NaNoWriMo.
*Happy Dance* The website has been up for a week. Random Genre Month Staff As you may know, I plan ahead. If we get about 50 more members then we are going to get a Twitter account, one hundred more and we will probably buy the domain name and maybe a Facebook. Let's head for
Okay so not much has happened in the past day. We have created some fliers that we are going to hang around town. If you would like one comment down below and we'll be happy to send some to you to hang all around your area.
Okay so the fifth day with over TWO HUNDRED VIEWS we are doing great. We are in the downward half of October which means that NaNoWriMo is just around the corner. It also means Halloween is too which means that I have to get ready and I am completely lost about ideas. Okay, off topic there.
So we have some new staff members joining soon and a new addition to the site is the RGM Calender which will be displayed on the Home Page and will help you keep a schedule of your writing. That will help a lot I figure with 31 days you should write about 1612 words a day. I think that we can all accomplish that. Just set aside maybe an hour or so a day for typing. That is what most people will do. I'm sure that's what I'll do because I will be so caught up with the input of everyone's word count. Also we have decided that at the end of the month we will have you email your novels to [email protected] and we will put your total word count up and then DELETE your novels. Don't worry, we won't keep them. If you do NaNoWrimo, back on that subject, December can be your break month where you can edit and take a break from noveling, then jump right in for January and February can be editing month for that. Then you get a BONUS MONTH before Script Frenzy comes along! Then a couple months before JulNoWriMo and then the cycle repeats. I start to feel like my life revolves around noveling. I also feel it makes time go by faster which may not be a good thing. For all of you competing in RGM this year it will be a perfect New Year's Day celebration. On midnight you do this "three...two...one...HAPPY NEW YEAR!" kiss kiss jump on your computer or grab a jou |
